FAQ
About Beachgrove
-
Through nationally recognised geotechnical experts Tonkin & Taylor, BeachGrove have completed extensive site investigations which determined that the earthquake events of 2011/12 had very little discernible impact on the BeachGrove site.
By utilising a densified and reinforced gravel raft, all BeachGrove sections have been specifically engineered to perform at a minimum of TC2 standard.
-
Sections will be raised to a minimum of 2.4 metres above mean sea level with an imported densified gravel layer and finished floor levels at least 2.9 metres above mean sea level. These requirements have been set by the Council to protect from future sea level rise and a 1 in 200 year flood event making BeachGrove one of the more flood resilient subdivisions in the greater Canterbury region.
-
Each residential lot will be equipped with an Eco Flow low-pressure sewer system – the most earthquake-resilient system on the market today. The cost of installation is included in the sale price of each section.
For more detailed information of the Ecoflow system, please download the Ecoflow manual from the BeachGrove Website here:
-
A piped stormwater system will be implemented to cater for rain and storm events as required by the Council and ECan. All properties are connected to this piped system meaning there is no requirement for onsite soakage pits and the like. All stormwater is treated and cleansed of contaminants before entering the surrounding streams and waterways.
